What has farming got to do with school children in London?
FACE can offer your school one or more of the following:
FACE wants to support your London school to provide food, farming and countryside education to your pupils. If you are interested in any of the above offers please contact Anna Portch at FACE London: [email protected]
This support is open to all schools in London although the numbers of schools we can work with is limited. Priority will be given to schools with high eligibility for free school meals (over 25% in KS2).

FACE can offer your school one or more of the following:
- Assembly – QUIZ “Where does my food come from?” FACE can deliver an interactive assembly involving the whole school or can work with a pupil team during a workshop to deliver an assembly about food and farming.
- A visit from a farmer – FACE works with Farmer associations to accompany farmers visiting London to schools to chat to pupils and show a slideshow of photos of their farm. Feedback from these visits has been overwhelmingly positive though availability is limited to when farmers visit London
- Pre Farm visit interactive workshops for classes of pupils who have booked a school visit to a farm
- A very limited number of small bursaries to help towards the costs of visiting a farm
- Careers advice for students about working in the food and farming industry
- Information and/or teacher CPD to help make your farm visit as fun, informative and safe as possible. FACE can provide your school with information about health and safety, curriculum links and where your nearest farms are
- A one to one meeting with you/ a teacher at your school to find out what support you need to incorporate Food, Farming and Countryside education into you urban school.
