‘Masked Crusaders’ story
‘The Masked Crusaders’ action group started with a few concerned Crouch End parents. Over a drink one night, they were discussing the number of people leaving engines running whilst dropping off or picking up kids from their local school – and decided to stop moaning and do something positive for change instead! Pooling together their respective professional skills they put their heads together to create an impactful local schools’ campaign that educated children and parents about the environmental impact of engine idling. The idea involves children themselves and aims to motivate them to become a passionate group of ‘Masked Crusaders’ who go out and tell their parents to turn their ‘ENGINES OFF!’. The campaign has been designed as a downloadable package allowing other schools in London to access the assets and run their own Masked Crusaders campaigns to raise awareness too. The action kicks off with school assemblies in the next week or two, mask making homework over half term and a ‘Masked March’ of children on Friday 8th Nov. |
