Masked Crusaders against engine idling #enginesoff #enginesoff

What is engine idling?
It is leaving a vehicle’s engine running while it’s parked. Many cars ‘idle’ needlessly around schools, especially at drop-off and pick up times, adding to the pollution our children breathe. We want people to turn their engines off! So, we’ve put together a campaign to let people know the dangers of leaving their engines running. We are sharing it with you here so you can stop idling around your school too. Over the next week or so please share the presentation about engine idling with your school, then over half term, get your children busy making their own fun ‘anti-pollution masks’ out of recycled material. We’ve created a handy 'How to' guide for you to put in book bags before the break. Social media assets will be available from Weds 6th Nov for you to share on the 8th. On Friday 8th November put your posters up and car flyers out while the children use their masks to transform into 'Masked Crusaders' against engine idling. This ‘Masked March’ is going to take place in schools across London – we’re even going to chant: “Cough, cough, engine off!” as we walk. You can too! We hope you’re up for being Masked Crusaders with us! Check out the resources below to help you:
